2026 Citizenship Award and Scholarship Recipients

To mark the 70th anniversary of the Future Aces Creed, the National Citizenship Award and Scholarship has returned to honour eight outstanding Canadian students in Grades 8 and 12.

Backed by our generous donor community, this program champions the next generation of changemakers—celebrating students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and a drive to make a difference in their community.

Meet the 2026 National Citizenship Awards and Scholarship receipients who are living the Creed and making an impact:

Driven by the Future Aces Creed, Aneira is dedicated to cultivating confidence, integrity, and character in her community. As a school leadership club member, she acts as a positive role model by championing a safe, inclusive environment. This scholarship will ease her financial journey and empower her to sharpen the leadership skills needed to inspire others. 

Scott has a passion for helping others and dreams of becoming a Civil Engineer. He embodies the Future Aces Creed through active community volunteering and collaborative leadership.  This scholarship will serve as a crucial steppingstone toward funding his university education, and motivating him to continue being a positive, hardworking member of his community. 

Having embraced the Future Aces Creed since elementary school, Naima is a dedicated changemaker who launched the “Belonging Survey”—a student census capturing responses from over 240 peers to foster an inclusive high school environment. Recognized for her deep perseverance, she is driven to overcome systemic barriers and empower marginalized voices. This scholarship will fund her post-secondary education, provide key networking opportunities, and honor her long-standing relationship with the Future Aces Foundation. 

An aspiring general practitioner, Ahmad embodies the Future Aces Creed through a commitment to integrity, empathy, and service. Having navigated family adversity with resilience, he focuses on creating inclusive spaces and leading by positive example. This scholarship will fund his journey toward providing equitable healthcare across the GTA and establishing a non-profit to introduce youth to sports and medicine. 

Kimelia’s journey from Jamaica to Canada is a testament to her resilience and unwavering drive. She embodies the Future Aces Creed daily, demonstrating integrity, maturity, and a strong work ethic as she supports her family and helps her younger siblings navigate their new home. This scholarship will secure her path to becoming a first-generation college graduate, allowing her to focus on her education and fulfill her goal of giving back to her community. 

Sophia lives the Future Aces Creed through empathetic leadership as a two-term President of the Future Aces club. She has coordinated numerous impactful community initiatives, including securing a $2,800 grant for the “Care and Share” project to support local shelters, alongside organizing extensive school-wide fundraisers and awareness drives. This scholarship will relieve financial pressures, allowing her to focus on her education while continuing to lead with courage, confidence, and a passion for helping others. 

Mervellance lives the Future Aces Creed through a deep commitment to excellence, service, and cooperation. Her daily impact includes her work as a baseball camp leader, where she fostered a supportive and motivating environment for younger participants. This scholarship will alleviate her financial pressures, allowing her to focus on her education and grow as a resilient leader who uplifts her community. 

Taha Ahmad balances high academic standards with a profound commitment to community service and youth advocacy. A natural leader, he serves as a volunteer and ambassador for BGC Fort McMurray—where he was named the BGC Canada Youth of the Year (2024/2025). He also actively contributes to Alberta Health Services and Wings of Hope for Africa. Driven by a desire to live with purpose, Taha plans to pursue a degree in Biomedical Engineering to design accessible, life-changing medical technologies that restore independence and improve quality of life for others.
